Quotly

    Quotly Deposit Guarantee

    Effective September 20, 2026

Pay a deposit through Quotly and, if the work never starts, you get your deposit back.

    What is covered

Deposits paid by card through Quotly, when the contractor never starts the job. "Never starts" means no work was performed and, for a materials deposit, no materials were purchased for your job.

    What is not covered

    • Payments made outside Quotly (cash, check, Venmo, or any other direct arrangement). We cannot verify or recover money we never processed.
    • Disagreements about the quality of completed or partially completed work. The guarantee is about work that never started, not about how it turned out.
    • Amounts above the guarantee ceiling of $500 per job. Card dispute rights (below) are not capped and remain available for the full amount.

    How a claim works

    1. Contact us within 30 days of the missed start, with your quote number.
    2. We first help you file a card dispute with your bank ("services not rendered"). This returns the money from the contractor and is the fastest complete remedy, with no cap.
    3. If the dispute fails or is no longer available, Quotly reimburses your deposit itself, up to $500.

    Materials deposits

Paying a deposit marked as covering materials clears the contractor to purchase materials right away, and you agree to that at checkout. From that point, refunds may not be available and should be coordinated directly with the contractor. If the contractor never starts and never buys materials, the guarantee applies in full.

    The fine print

The guarantee is a goodwill policy from Quotly, not an insurance product and not an escrow arrangement: Quotly never holds your money, which moves directly from your card to the contractor through Stripe. One claim per job. Claims involving suspected fraud may take longer while we investigate. We may update these terms; the version in effect when you paid applies to your payment.
